What is GLP-1 or GLP-2?

Initially intended to treat type 2 Diabetes, GLP-1 or GLP-2 is a potent glycemic stabilizer designed to boost insulin levels while reducing the secretion of the peptide hormone glucagon, stabilizing blood sugar levels. In addition to these functions, the medication can significantly reduce appetite and food cravings, promoting glycemic balance. While GLP-1 or GLP-2 is an incredibly effective weight loss treatment, patients see the most significant benefit when combined with a healthy diet and exercise regimen.

How does GLP-1 or GLP-2 work?

An FDA-approved treatment, GLP-1 peptidic receptor agonist that interacts with GLP-1, a hormone that is responsible for regulating hunger levels in the body. By interacting with this hormone, GLP-1 or GLP-2 induces feelings of satiety after consuming fewer calories than usual.

Beyond regulating hunger levels, GLP-1 or GLP-2 also stimulates insulin secretion from the pancreas in cases of high blood sugar levels. It also slows down the digestive process by delaying gastric emptying, leading to a reduction in appetite and faster weight loss.

GLP-1 or GLP-2 injections are administered weekly. Our GLP-1 or GLP-2 injections are infused with Vitamin B12 to help boost the patient’s metabolism and increase their energy levels. Patients who follow a healthy lifestyle in addition to their GLP-1 or GLP-2 treatments can see as much as a 15% drop in body weight.

What are the benefits of GLP-1 or GLP-2?

Clinical studies have demonstrated that GLP-1 or GLP-2 can lead to more significant weight loss than other treatments. This medication can be taken alone or in combination with Phentermine, resulting in better appetite control and more substantial weight loss.

Who is a candidate for GLP-1 or GLP-2?

To receive a prescription for GLP-1 or GLP-2, patients must consult with a qualified weight loss specialist. Typically, candidates for this treatment have a BMI of at least 30. However, individuals with a BMI as low as 27 and certain medical conditions, such as hypertension, type 2 diabetes, and high cholesterol, may also qualify for GLP-1 or GLP-2 treatment.

During the consultation, we thoroughly assess the patient's medical history and current health status to determine if they are suitable candidates for GLP-1 or GLP-2 treatment. Patients with a history of tumors or cancer are typically not eligible. Patients must also inform their practitioner of any medications they are taking.

    What does the treatment involve?

GLP-1 or GLP-2 injections are usually given weekly, gradually increasing the dosage for optimal results. Most patients find the injections painless, typically administered in the midsection, upper arm, or thighs.

After the initial treatment, patients will administer the injections themselves at home and return to the office for follow-up appointments every few weeks or once a month.
