FRACTIONATED & FULLY ABLATIVE CO2 LASER

Fractionated CO2 laser technology has enabled physicians to resurface a patient’s skin with a lower risk of complications than non-fractionated ablative laser treatments. By fusing the efficacy of ablative CO2 lasers with cutting-edge fractional technology and a more tightly focused beam, fractional CO2 laser rejuvenation delivers uniform tissue ablation to the dermis which creates immediate contraction and tissue tightening.

Though significant side effects are relatively uncommon, they do occur, which is why it is important to select a board-certified surgeon with the experience and expertise to ensure safety and high quality results.

This procedure can help improve:

• Superficial wrinkles of the face and neck
• Fine wrinkles around the mouth and eyes
• Skin texture
• Enlarged facial pores
• Hyper-pigmentation or sun damage or brown spots
• Acne scarring
• Excess skin following a facelift procedure

Patients can expect to be red and swollen the next day. On the second, third or fourth day, the patient will begin peeling and may experience a slight itchiness similar to that of a sunburn. During this period, the skin peel is revealing new rejuvenated skin with an improved texture and clarity. The skin will continue to look pink with some swelling for up to two weeks. We strongly recommend staying out of the sun, and always protecting the treated areas with sunscreen until the pinkness is completely gone.

OBAGI BLUE PEEL

The Obagi Blue Peel is a medium-depth professional chemical peel treatment. It is an in-office procedure designed to dramatically improve the appearance and health of your skin.

The Obagi Blue Peel works by utilizing 15 to 20% TCA, or trichloracetic acid. TCA is a chemical that is often used in peels due to its efficiency in removing the outer layers of skin. This chemical is mixed with a special blue base that slows penetration, so that the medical aesthetician can monitor the appropriate depth to effectively remove the thin surface layers of aged and damaged skin from the face or neck. These dead skin cells are replaced by healthier ones, allowing the skin to be renewed and rejuvenated.

This procedure can help improve:

• Superficial wrinkles of the face, neck, upper chest and arms
• Fine wrinkles around the mouth and eyes
• Skin texture
• Enlarged facial pores
• Facial complexion
• Hyper-pigmentation or sun damage or brown spots
• Acne scarring

The application of the peel takes approximately 20 minutes, depending on how many layers/coats the patient requires to achieve the desired results. Immediately following the procedure, a bluish tint can be seen on your skin until it peels off, which usually takes anywhere from 7 to 10 days.

After your skin has completely finished peeling, you will immediately enjoy the dramatic results of your rejuvenated complexion. Yet over the next 4 to 6 weeks, your skin’s look and feel will continue to improve, becoming firmer, clearer, smoother and healthier.
