While some dermatology issues may not be a cause for medical concern, they may still cause people to be self-conscious and dissatisfied with their appearance.
At South Coast Plastic Surgery, we approach skin resurfacing in a highly specialized and focused way. Rather than dabbling in a wide variety of methods used to enhance the look and feel of your skin, we administer what we believe are the two most effective procedures: Fractionated & Fully Ablative CO2 Laser and the Clarity Laser. Recognized as the most innovative procedures in the industry, these treatments deliver immediate results, helping resurface your skin and improving the texture, clarity and overall appearance of your skin with minimal discomfort or risk.

Fractionated CO2 laser technology has enabled physicians to resurface a patient’s skin with a lower risk of complications than non-fractionated ablative laser treatments. By fusing the efficacy of ablative CO2 lasers with cutting-edge fractional technology and a more tightly focused beam, fractional CO2 laser rejuvenation delivers uniform tissue ablation to the dermis which creates immediate contraction and tissue tightening.
Though significant side effects are relatively uncommon, they do occur, which is why it is important to select a board-certified surgeon with the experience and expertise to ensure safety and high quality results.
This procedure can help improve:
- Superficial wrinkles of the face and neck
- Fine wrinkles around the mouth and eyes
- Skin texture
- Enlarged facial pores
- Hyper-pigmentation or sun damage or brown spots
- Acne scarring
- Excess skin following a facelift procedure
Patients can expect to be red and swollen the next day. On the second, third or fourth day, the patient will begin peeling and may experience a slight itchiness similar to that of a sunburn. During this period, the skin peel is revealing new rejuvenated skin with an improved texture and clarity. The skin will continue to look pink with some swelling for up to two weeks. We strongly recommend staying out of the sun, and always protecting the treated areas with sunscreen until the pinkness is completely gone.

Introducing the Clarity Laser From Lutronic
Lutronic’s Clarity Laser is one of the most comprehensive laser treatments available today. The Clarity Laser can treat a range of aesthetic concerns, including:
- Hair Removal
- Pigmented Lesions
- Wrinkle Reduction
- Spider Veins
- Stretch Marks
The Clarity Laser is also exceptional at treating and minimizing the appearance of stretch marks. Patients who have stretch marks as a result of hormonal changes, weight loss/gain, and/or pregnancy see the most benefit from Clarity Laser treatments.
How Does It Work?
The Clarity Laser uses dual wavelengths – the long pulsed 755 nm Alexandrite and 1064 nm Nd:WAG – to deliver energy to the dermis. The light targets and destroys complexion irregularities, especially pigmented lesions and stretch marks.
Additionally, the Clarity Laser is renowned for remodeling collagen, which helps increase cellular production and turnover. As a result, clients can expect younger-looking skin with smoother lines and reduced lesions.
What Can I Expect From My Procedure?
The Clarity Laser procedure is a non-invasive treatment that uses a handheld piece to deliver dual wavelength energy. Cooling air is emitted from the device to help preserve a client’s comfort during the treatment. Each session can vary in length, depending on the desired treatment.
What’s Recovery Like?
Clients can expect some redness and tenderness at the treatment site; however, they can return to their normal activities immediately after the procedure. Clients should wear sunscreen and avoid exposing their skin to the sun for several days after the procedure.
