Juvederm vs. Juvederm XC vs. Juvederm Ultra: Which One is Right for Me?
There are certainly a lot of dermal fillers on the market today – and many of them are from the Juvederm family. These fillers – all of which contain hyaluronic acid gel – are designed to add volume to key facial areas, as well as minimize deep wrinkles and folds. Some fillers can even be used to add volume underneath the eyes and in the lips.
But when it comes down to it, how do you know which one is right for you?
The Differences Between the Juvederm Fillers
Perhaps one of the biggest differences between these Juvederm fillers is the texture of the HA gel that’s being used within the injection. On the one hand, Juvederm Ultra has more of a “pudding” HA gel, as it’s designed to go deeper into the dermal tissue in order to correct the appearance of nasolabial folds. Juvederm and Juvederm XC, on the other hand, are typically placed in higher positions than Ultra, so the HA gel is thinner so as not to produce unnatural results.
Additionally, there is a key difference that might matter to patients looking for a more comfortable injection experience. The “XC” in Juvederm XC means that the injection itself is preloaded with lidocaine, which works to immediately numb the area as the HA gel is being injected into the dermis. This can help make the entire process much more comfortable for clients who may be nervous about pain from needles.
Which Juvederm Filler is Right for Me?
Choosing the right Juvederm filler will largely depend on your treatment goals. For example, are you more focused on adding volume to sagging cheeks, or do you feel self-conscious about the appearance of deep nasolabial folds? Are you okay with needle injections, or would you need the additional lidocaine from an injection like Juvederm XC?
We’ll work with you to help better understand what you’re looking to get out of your Juvederm experience, so you can select the right filler for you.
